WHAT TO KNOW
BEFORE YOU BOOK.

This guide covers parcels sent from the Isle of Man to the United States. Your destination and parcel details determine whether Economy, Tracked or Express is available, and Twyft collects the information needed to prepare your International shipment during booking.

Complete U.S. delivery address

Provide the recipient’s full street address, city, state and ZIP Code. Use the complete delivery address rather than relying on a ZIP Code alone.

Service depends on your parcel

Economy, Tracked and Express have different eligibility limits. Enter the actual destination, weight, dimensions and declared value to see the services available.

Customs information is required

Goods sent from the Isle of Man to the United States enter the U.S. import process. Provide accurate contents, quantity, value and recipient information during booking so the shipment can be prepared correctly.

Import charges may apply

U.S. duties, taxes, fees or other import charges can depend on the goods, country of origin, value and circumstances of the shipment. See our Customs & Duties guide for current guidance.

Country of origin matters

U.S. import treatment can depend on where the goods were made or produced, not simply where the parcel was sent from. Provide the origin of each item accurately where requested.

  • Wider parcel-weight range than Economy
Explore Tracked

USA Customs & Import Charges

WHAT MAY APPLY
AT DESTINATION.

Goods sent from the Isle of Man to the United States enter the U.S. import process. Customs treatment and any charges depend on what is being sent, its origin, value and the way the shipment enters the United States.

U.S. import declaration

Shipment information must accurately describe the goods, quantity, value and origin so the shipment can be processed for U.S. import.

The old $800 de minimis no longer applies

Duty-free de minimis treatment previously available for qualifying shipments valued at $800 or less is currently suspended. Shipments may therefore be subject to applicable U.S. duties, taxes, fees or other charges according to their circumstances.

Personal gifts have separate rules

Qualifying unsolicited personal gifts valued at up to $100 may still receive duty-free treatment, subject to U.S. conditions. Commercial goods should not be described as gifts.

Who pays

Responsibility for duties, taxes, fees and clearance charges depends on the shipment and customs arrangement. Sender-paid arrangements may be possible for suitable services but are not universal.

Current rules checked: August 2026. Rules and shipment treatment can change, so check the current guidance before booking.
